Devotional: The Lotus and the Virtuous Woman
My beloved sister, consider the woman you are who rises like a lotus from still water. Though the depths around you are shadowed, lift your face toward the Light of Christ. Our minds are steadied by His truth, our bodies strengthened by care, and spirits adorned with virtue. In our wholeness, the Lord our God is delighted us.
She is not untouched by the world—no lotus grows without the waters beneath it. Yet she is not defined by those waters. She blooms above them.
Her mind is tended with gentleness. She guards her thoughts as one would guard a sacred flame, knowing peace is not accidental but cultivated. Wisdom becomes her shelter, clarity her companion.
Her body is honored as a gift. She nourishes it, rests it, strengthens it, not out of vanity but out of reverence. She understands that the vessel entrusted to her is worthy of care.
Her virtue is not a performance but a posture. She walks with compassion, speaks with integrity, and chooses what is life-giving even when it is difficult. Her character is the fragrance of her bloom.
And the Lord, who sees both the waters and the rising, calls her blessed.
